Last week, SpaceBuzz landed in Innsbruck – and GeoVille had the chance to take part with a company slot. What an inspiring experience!
Inside a rocket-shaped object equipped with immersive VR technology, we “launched” into space and experienced the famous Overview Effect – the perspective astronauts describe when seeing Earth from orbit. From above, our planet appears as a bright, fragile world without borders, reminding us how interconnected and vulnerable it really is.
The SpaceBuzz initiative aims to inspire the next generation to engage with science, technology and sustainability by bringing a powerful space perspective to life through virtual reality.
For us at GeoVille, working every day with Earth observation and geospatial insights, this experience resonated strongly. Seeing our planet from this “astronaut’s perspective” is a powerful reminder of why understanding and protecting Earth matters.
