Geospatial innovation for sustainable tourism in a changing climate

One of the key activities in our project, “Green Transition Information Factory: Earth Observation Adaptation Services,” financed by the Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft (FFG), is the development of a Climate Change Explorer for Tourism. This tool will visualize the impacts of climate change for decision-makers in tourism regions by integrating geospatial data with tourism-specific, economic, and social data.

Together with our project partners EOX, Bundesrechenzentrum and Österreich Werbung, we carried out the first stakeholder workshop in Salzburg, to identify user needs and refine the data requirements for the Climate Change Explorer.

A big thank you to all the participants for their active engagement and valuable expertise. Their contributions will be essential in establishing a strong foundation for the success of the project and shaping the future of tourism.
