Copernicus Global Land Cover and Tropical Forest Mapping and Monitoring

In November 2023, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, in collaboration with a consortium led by VITO, signed a four-year framework contract to implement the new Copernicus Global Land Cover and Tropical Forest Mapping and Monitoring service (LCFM).

This builds upon the success of the 100m Copernicus Global Land Cover layers, integrating insights from ESA’s WorldCover and Horizon2020 REDDCopernicus projects to provide a dynamic global land cover service at 10 m resolution for the years 2020-2026.

GeoVille's focusses on the Service Quality Monitoring and Assurance (SQMA) within the LCFM framework contract, ensuring a consistently high quality of service execution and the output of LCFM products.
