Monitoring of agricultural production areas - Madagascar

GeoVille provides products and services supporting the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development (UN-IFAD) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Madagascar to understand the occurred land use changes, and determine the current state and changes of agricultural production.

GeoVille used historical radar and optical satellite data to map rice fields and other cropland along with high level land cover classes from 1996 to 2009 and performed a multi-year change detection analysis of the agricultural production areas.
