Automated forest mapping based on orthophotos

Automated mapping of forest extent based on orthophotos with 0,25m resolution has been conducted for several Austrian States. Guaranteed accuracies supersede 95% for biological forest extent as well as forest cover according to forest law. Minimum mapping units are 0,05 and 0,1ha respectively.
